How to start the Elden Ring Nokron City Entrance Quest, defeat Starscourge Radahn, and unlock the Eternal City below Limgrave.

Got a build that's starting to feel stale? You need a Larval Tear. And if you've already burned through the easy ones — the ones sitting in obvious chests, the one you grabbed off a corpse without even looking — you're probably hunting for an Elden Ring larval tear farming spot that actually pays off. Trust me, I've been there. I spent an hour wandering Nokron wondering why nothing was dropping before I finally figured out the loop.
Good news: you don't have to wander forever. Bad news: Larval Tears aren't like runes. There's no boss you can farm ad nauseam. These things are stingy.
What follows is the route I actually use to stock up on Larval Tears, fix my stats when a build goes sideways, and keep my rebirth options open all the way into New Game+.
Before we go any further, let's touch on how rebirth actually works. Once you've beaten Rennala at Raya Lucaria, she'll let you spend a single Larval Tear to respec your attributes. Confirm the rebirth and the tear is gone. Poof. Gone forever.
Roughly 18 Larval Tears exist per playthrough. That sounds punishing, but here's the thing nobody tells you — unused tears carry over into New Game+. Hoard them early and you've basically got a war chest for NG+.
What am I actually looking for in a farming spot? A few things, honestly. The walk from the Site of Grace to the enemies has to be short. Resetting the area needs to be fast. And the enemies themselves — Silver Tears, for the most part — have to actually drop the damn tear at a reasonable clip.
That's why Nokron and Nokstella are still where everyone farms. Whether you call it Elden Ring or 艾尔登法环, the principle doesn't change: go underground, hunt Silver Tears, and don't leave drops on the ground like a chump.
Nokron, the Eternal City, is the best all-around Larval Tear farming spot in my book. It unlocks after you kill Starscourge Radahn, so you can get here surprisingly early if you just push through the main story instead of getting lost in Caelid (been there, done that, still have the scar).
Radahn has to die first. Once the Radahn festival wraps, a meteorite slams into the ground near Mistwood in Limgrave and blows open a crater. Drop down the elevator and keep going and you'll eventually stumble into Nokron.
The fastest farming loop starts at the Night's Sacred Ground Site of Grace. Haven't unlocked that grace yet? Then go wander Nokron until you hit the ruined temple crawling with Silver Tear enemies. You'll know it when you see it — glowing white drops scattered everywhere like someone broke a glowstick.
You'll kick yourself later if you don't stack Item Discovery before every pull. Here's what I slap on before I start:
Every few points of Arcane nudges Item Discovery upward too. Quick new-player tip: don't chug the Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot the second you arrive. The buff is timed. Wait until you're staring at a big clump of Silver Tears, then pop it.
From the Night's Sacred Ground grace, push into the main ruined courtyard. Those black, writhing, tear-shaped blobs skittering around? Those are your marks.
Kill everything in the immediate area. A wide-swinging weapon that hits multiple targets at once makes this trivial. Hate crowd control? Pull them one by one with a bow. Whatever keeps you alive.
Silver Tears have a chance to drop a Larval Tear on death — and I do mean chance. Don't rage-quit after one empty run. The drop rate is rough, no sugarcoating it, but the route is so short that repetition wins out every time.
While you're down here, scoop up the fixed Larval Tears too. Not every tear in Nokron is a random drop. A handful are one-time pickups sitting on corpses right next to the Silver Tear nests, and a couple more are tucked inside the buildings around the Mimic Tear boss arena.
Grab them now. Coming back later is a pain. The one-time corpses don't respawn — the random Silver Tear drops will, which is the whole point.
Cluster cleared? Walk back to the Night's Sacred Ground Site of Grace and rest. Resting respawns the Silver Tear pack. Don't fast travel away and then teleport back — resting is faster and resets everything cleanly.
Then you just loop:
No boss fights. No elevator marathons. That's why Nokron is my go-to Elden Ring larval tear farming spot.
Nokron is great, but Nokstella is another top-tier Larval Tear spot that a lot of players actually prefer. Why? More Silver Tears packed into a smaller area. Denser farm.
You get here during Ranni's questline. If you've already poked around the underground near the Lake of Rot, congratulations, you're in the right zone.
Base yourself at the Nokstella, Eternal City Site of Grace. Head out toward the ruined city buildings and you'll spot Silver Tears skulking near the broken walls and tucked inside the little chambers.
Same setup applies. Silver Scarab equipped, Fowl Foot popped right before a big pull. That's your best shot at a Larval Tear drop.
Clear the first room, then push into the connecting hall. I always forget until I look up — a few Silver Tears hang from the ceiling in this section. Shoot 'em down with a bow and finish them on the floor.
Nokstella runs a touch slower than Nokron because the surrounding enemies are more aggressive. Density more than makes up for it, though. After you clear the room, jog back to the Nokstella, Eternal City grace and rest to reset everything.
Larval Tears matter. Don't blow the farm on dumb habits. I've watched enough people shoot themselves in the foot here.
Silver Tears drop Larval Tears sometimes. Most of the time, they drop nothing worth mentioning. Kill one and walk away empty-handed? That's normal. Don't throw your controller. Keep going.
Farming without the Silver Scarab and a Fowl Foot active is just punishing yourself. The whole reason this route works is that it's short enough to repeat dozens of times, and every repeat gets better with discovery stacked. Don't cheap out.
Listen, that shiny new build looks fun on paper. But every tear you burn before you know what you're doing is one less tear for the build you'll actually fall in love with. Before you rebirth, actually write down why you're respeccing. Curious about a weapon? Try a smaller stat swap first. Tears are farmable, sure, but early in a run they're still scarce.
The respawn trick only works when you rest at a Site of Grace that's actually nearby. Wander too far and the enemies won't reset the way you expect. Stick to the loop.
No single enemy hands you infinite Larval Tears on a fixed timer. But the Silver Tears in Nokron and Nokstella can be farmed repeatedly, and high Item Discovery makes the drop rate bearable. Since unused tears carry into New Game+, you're about as close to infinite rebirth as this game gets — just keep running this route across playthroughs.
Night's Sacred Ground in Nokron wins. The grace is steps away from the Silver Tears, so each loop takes under a minute. Nokstella makes a fine backup if you'd rather have more enemies per run.
Yes, Item Discovery is the whole game here. The Silver Scarab talisman boosts it passively, the Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot adds a temporary stack, and Arcane raises Item Discovery as you level it. More Arcane means better farming odds.
Rennala, in Raya Lucaria. Beat her, then talk to her in the library and pick the rebirth option. One Larval Tear gets eaten every time you respec.
Larval Tear farming isn't the smoothest grind in the world. Doesn't matter — it's worth every minute if you like experimenting with builds. Stick to the Nokron loop, bring your discovery gear, and those rebirths will keep showing up.
